life lately

Life has been busy - horses, puppies, school, art, crochet, embroidery and sewing. I'll be selling some things at Toni-Märt at the Zurich University of Art - ZHDK - and I've been getting ready for it for the past month. There isn't much to write about, though, so for now I'll just post some pictures - there you go! :)

some embroidery i worked on this week - loving the floral!

pretty embroidery floss.

my favourite hat pattern right now - i've made so many hats this month!

i'm taking the best art class this semester and we're having an exhibition next week.

crochet on the train. the train has been the best place to get work done - i ride it for almost an hour a day anyway, so why not do something other than looking at my phone during that time?!

some of my things

i've been crafting up a storm lately - stitching, drawing, painting, creating. i am taking pretty much all the art classes i can this semester, and so far, it has been the most inspiring time ever.

this is just a quick update, so i am going back to my drawing exercises and sketchbook now. talk to you soon!

love, annika

twenty pins summer challenge

well hello there - i am back, and better than ever! the past semester was probably the hardest, shittiest time of my life, but it is over, i have eight weeks of summer break ahead of me and i am planning on making this the best summer ever. and as part of that summer, i have decided to finally do some of the 596 pins on my pinterest boards. and not just that - i am going to turn it into a challenge. i have picked twenty pins that i am going to complete, and if everything goes well, i will have done all twenty pins by the end of august. wish me luck!

way up high // seetalhütte

A few months ago, back when it wasn't as cold and snowy as it is now, I went on a small hiking trips with two of my very best friends. We spent the night in a lovely little cabin on the side of the mountain, the only source of warmth (and food!) a wooden stove.

The second half of our planned route was oh so steep, and oh so hard. We had to hold on to a steel cable for part of the way, and sometimes we couldn't even see the path - we just knew we had to go up. If I hadn't known that I would have to climb down again, I would have given up about a thousand times. But we did it, and I had never felt better than the moment when I stood up there, catching my breath and taking it the view. It was so worth it.

The way down led through a beautiful little valley with giant rocks spread all around and small rivers that we had to climb across. I want to go back there just because of its beauty - but then I remember how horribly long and difficult the way there was.

Nevertheless, it was good. Good to be outside and breathe in the cold, fresh air. Good to do something I had never thought I'd be able to do. Good to spend time with friends, good to laugh together and suffer together and in the end, feel proud together. We're already planning our next trip - as soon as the snow is gone! I'll keep you posted!

about

Hi there! My name is Annika. I am a twentythree-year-old swiss girl with a love for animals, creating and nature. This blog is my place to express this love, and maybe even help it grow.

I am a day dreamer, a plant eater, a student going to be teacher, a mountain climber, an adventurer, a (not very good but happy) singer, an artist and everything else that I want to be. I am neither a dog nor a cat person, but who would make me choose, anyway?

I fall in and out of love with life every day, and while it might not be the best way to live, it certainly is to me.
